In 2016 Donald Trump inspired a change in my approach to politics.
His appearance on the political scene jarred me awake.
I used to sleepwalk through my approach to politics, voting, and policies. I had outsourced thinking through any of that (although I wouldn't have admitted it at the time) and trusted that any person or policy promoted by the Republican party must be the good and “Christian” choice.

With the Republican nomination of a man who bragged about sexual assault and the excuse from so many conservative Christian voters that they were voting based on the policies of the party and to pay no attention to the candidate, I decided it was time to look carefully at those policies.
Were Republican policies worth plugging our noses and voting for someone who had a long history of all the things I thought we stood against?
I’ve been thinking about that for the last 8 years.
I convinced my husband, Nathan, to join me on my podcast to discuss how we’ve been wrestling with these questions. I’d love for you to pull up a chair and listen in.
I always love having Nathan on the podcast with me!
It felt like you were telling my story. The same journey from what I decided to do in 2016 and the struggle with releasing all the talking points from my past and developing my own thoughts about things.
