About a year and a half ago I met an immigrant that looked just like me.

My friend, Aaron, likes to call himself an “invisible immigrant.” His light skin and barely perceptible Canadian accent give him a chance to overhear folks talk about people like him without them knowing they are talking about him.

I asked him if he would be willing to hop on my podcast to have a conversation about immigration because he has personal experience with the process and could talk about it in a way that wasn’t theoretical. He’s also spent time in Scripture trying to discern how our Christian faith should inform how we engage with this issue.

I’m so grateful that he agreed to do this.

We talk about misconceptions, the precarious position even legally documented individuals are in, and the impact of immigration on local economies and safety. We talk about all of it and don’t shy away from acknowledging some of the tricky nuances.

I’d love for you to listen. And, if you learn something, share it with a friend!
