I’m trying to get back to a rythm of posting every Sunday a summary of things I’ve been listening to, reading, experiencing. . . . I think you’ll find something worthwhile here.
Sunday Sundries (posted on a Monday this week)
This round-up will include an Audible series I couldn’t stop listening to, a new Oreo flavor that tastes like stale church nursery crackers, and a daily quiz/riddle challenge I love.

3 Things I Listened To
What Could Go Wrong (audible original)
I laughed and gasped and found this so fascinating.
From the audible description:
Predicting a global pandemic in a hit movie was impressive. Writing a sequel that will work for today’s world might take a whole different kind of intelligence.Join Scott Z. Burns, the acclaimed screenwriter of Contagion, as he embarks on a mind-bending quest to create a worthy follow-up to his eerily prophetic film. Reuniting with director Steven Soderbergh, members of the cast and crew, and the scientific experts who advised him on the first film, Burns also turns to an unexpected collaborator: artificial intelligence. But can AI predict the source of the next global pandemic—or at least help convince a Hollywood studio to buy your movie pitch? Down the rabbit hole we go, slipping deeper and deeper into the surreal and unknown to explore if human creativity and AI could join forces.
Amy Grant: Fame, Vulnerability, and Staying Grounded from No Small Endeavor
If you enjoy thoughtful, long-form interviews, you will love Lee C. Camp at No Small Endeavor. This was a great interview.
How to Handle Bad Moods with the Lazy Genius
If you want practical advice, Kendra Adachi, the Lazy Genius is a favorite.
3 Things Happening In The World
No Kings Protests and Trump’s Military Parade.
Israel Attacks Iran’s Nuclear Sites. Iran responds.
You didn’t ask, but you need to know that I bought the new Oreo flavor: chocolate-covered pretzel.
The results are unanimous.
They taste like stale church nursery crackers. If you want that nostalgic feeling, go ahead and try them.
Some Good News
Our family loves doing the daily Bracket City puzzle/riddle/quiz. I’m not sure how to categorize it, but it’s fun!
3 Things About Me This Week
My new music obsession is Jon Guerra. I’m probably the last person to jump on this train, but my favorite songs are: I See the Birds (OMW, it’s break-your-heart beautiful in the best way), Nothing To Say To The New York Times, and In The Beginning Was Love. This interview with Jon Guerra on Russell Moore’s podcast will give you some background on his music.
I watched the new Mission Impossible movie last week. It was very long and an absolutely ridiculous showcase of all the stunts Tom Cruise wanted to make sure he did before he can’t physically do them anymore. My favorite part was a nod to the first movie.
I asked for a tree for my birthday, and we planted it on Saturday. It’s a Ginko that, unless we kill it, could still be thriving in a thousand years. I can’t wait to see the bright yellow leaves in the fall!
What’s on your list for this last week? I’d love to hear from you!
