You Really Loved This Week's Episode
I shared this quote from my episode with Wade Mullen on Twitter:
“You can have within an organization, this climate of flattery & charm". . . "especially in a public setting," . . . "but then at the same time, behind the scenes or in closed door meetings, there's coercion, there's intimidation, there's threats.”
This may be one of the most important points of my conversation with Mullen. Every one of us wants to present our best image to the world. The line is crossed when it’s used to actively deceive and hurt people. That’s not the same as using a filter on our photos.
Still, I’m doing a bit more second-guessing the way I present myself publicly.
I stressed about this episode more than I should have. I knew how valuable the information was and I didn’t want any of my lack of editing skills to take away from that. I’ve also been so burdened by the number of you that are connected to a church in Minneapolis that are hurting. I’ve been thinking about you and praying for you.

Some of you are here because I’m going to be giving away 2 copies of Wade’s book to people chosen randomly from my email list. I’ll be picking the names on August 1, 2021. If you can’t wait and want to get the book now, you can order it from Amazon or anywhere books are sold.
You know how Goodreads will suggest books to you based on what you have already read and enjoyed? I would love to do that for you.
If you appreciated Wade, and you’re on Twitter, you’ll enjoy these accounts as well:
Twitter:
I would love for you to follow me, too.
Of course, if you enjoyed the first part of my conversation with Wade, you don’t want to miss part 2 that I’ll be sharing on Wednesday, July 28. For a long, long time I’ve wanted to ask him for his thoughts on what he observed with impression management techniques happening in this article.
Why would an organization respond with this sort of communication? (and that’s just one paragraph of many like it)
Wade graciously agreed to share his observations. I’d rather undersell and over deliver, but I can’t be cool about this one. The episode great! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for saving a seat for me in your inbox and for sharing the podcast with your friends!
