For me, the first clues came during his initial primary campaign when evangelicals lined up to fawn over this man who had bragged about sexual assault on tape and who was already known as a serial adulterer. I so clearly remembered how these same evangelicals told us to abhor Bill Clinton because “a man who will cheat on his wife will cheat on his country.” The two-faced love for Trump was bewildering.

Very well said Amy. It seems so obvious this man is destroying our country/not a godly man by any standard so I’m baffled how so many Christians refuse to see this.

Ironically, I think those exact biographies may have played a role in getting us to where we are now. Millions of Christians read them and became convinced that they had to do something big for Jesus, to change the world and take America back for God. That’s exactly what so many think they are doing and taking part in today. What we actually needed to be taught was that, the majority of the time, the way of the cross is not considered worthy of bestselling biographies.
